Project Overview
Trafford College in Manchester was the proud winner of a RIBA Award for the North West Region and winner of the Non-Residential category at the INCA Conference in 2011. The project schedule required the K Systems E Silkolitt system to be installed prior to the windows, so K Systems detailed weatherproof window reveals to prevent the system being damaged prior to the installation of the glazing. In addition, there was a requirement for us to create interface details with the GRP Precast Feature Fins and the Sun Louvers that are installed to all south facing 1st floor windows. A total of 3500m2 of the K Systems E Silkolitt system was installed comprising 80mm EPS insulation boards and K Systems 1.5mm Silkolitt+ Silicone Thin Coat render, the latter contributing to the building’s striking contemporary exterior.
