Supporting Your High-Rise Residential Projects

Upgrading high-rise housing is a cost-effective route to improve the suitability and sustainability of homes by reducing energy bills and contributing to the governments Net-Zero 2050 targets.

The Governments and local councils in the UK and Ireland are investing into our housing stocks to both reduce energy usage and to reduce fuel poverty, for residents who need support the most. The majority of domestic energy use is for heating our homes, so insulating the fabric of the property with EWI is a proven method to reduce the amount of heat lost and also rejuvenate the aesthetics of the building.

The Role of EWI in high-rise residential projects

External Wall Insulation (EWI) wraps the walls of the home with a layer of insulation and is installed as a system with a new decorative finish, typically of render or brick, to revitalise the aesthetics of the building.

EWI is a ‘fabric-first’ energy efficiency measure, meaning it contributes to reducing heat loss and improves the thermal comfort for residents.

The fire performance and safety of residents is critical in any high-rise façade system design, meaning only A2-s1,d0 and A1 classified systems will be specified. EWI systems incorporating A1 classified Mineral Wool insulation with specific system details and designs to ensure the highest level of fire safety are achieved.

Suitable Solutions for High-Rise Residential Projects

Mineral Wool insulation provides exceptional thermal performance, acoustic performance and provides the highest of levels of fire performance, being A1 classified.

K Systems offer an extensive range of system designs and finish options to suit any new and refurbishment project, with K Systems M for masonry & concrete substrates, Direct Fix for steel-frame construction and Exicco for steel & timber framed constructions where a drained cavity system is required.

K Systems can offer an extensive range of brick and render finish options, including our range of A1 classified systems which provide the highest level of fire performance.
