Low-Rise Residential

The K Systems team are vastly experienced in delivering solutions for low-rise residential properties with minimum disruption to tenants.

Supporting Your Low-Rise Residential Projects

Upgrading low-rise housing is a cost-effective route to improve the suitability and sustainability of homes by reducing energy bills and contributing to the governments Net-Zero 2050 targets.

The Governments in the UK and Ireland are investing into our housing stocks to both reduce energy usage and to reduce fuel poverty, for residents who need support the most. The majority of domestic energy use is for heating our homes, meaning lowering energy usage can be achieved by either generating heat more efficiently or by insulating the fabric of the property to lose less of the heat produced.

The Role of EWI in low-rise residential projects

External Wall Insulation (EWI) wraps the walls of the home with a layer of insulation and is installed as a system with a new decorative finish, typically of render or brick, to revitalise the aesthetics of the building.

EWI is a ‘fabric-first’ energy efficiency measure, meaning it contributes to reducing heat loss and improves the thermal comfort for residents and is particularly suitable for older solid wall houses and for cavity wall homes, where cavity wall insulation is not suitable.

Suitable Solutions for Low-Rise Residential Projects

EPS insulation is a cost-effective and light-weight solution for achieving net zero and decarbonisation of housing stock. Used in our K Systems E external wall insulation system, EPS systems are used extensively on low-rise residential properties for many years where high levels of thermal performance have been required. Commonly fixed on to masonry structures, our EPS insulation based system incorporates microscopic particles of graphite for enhanced thermal performance.

Mineral Wool insulation offers outstanding fire resistance, is non-combustible, and environmentally friendly. Used in our K Systems M EWI system, it's ideal for new builds and refurbishments, particularly in low-rise residential properties with steel, timber, or concrete structures.

We also offer systems with the use of phenolic foam insulation boards, a lightweight insulation that enables high level of thermal performance using thinner sections of insulation.
